Why “Grumpas”?
Owners Adam and Jessy Alexander started Grumpas Driving School after seeing a need for local driver education in Lincoln and the surrounding communities.
Despite the name, the school was not named because Adam is “grumpy.” The name Grumpas honors two important men in their family: Adam’s father, Allan Alexander, and Jessy’s grandfather, Robert “Bob” Butler Sr.
Their influence helped inspire a driving school built around safety, responsibility, community, and helping others.
Adam Alexander
Adam grew up in the Lincoln area and brings a strong safety-focused background to driver education.
His experience as both a professional truck driver who traveled across the country and an EMT has given him a firsthand understanding of the importance of safe, attentive, and responsible driving.
Adam’s teaching style is practical and supportive. His goal is to help students build good driving habits, develop confidence behind the wheel, and understand the responsibility that comes with being a driver.
Jessy Alexander
Jessy grew up in York, Maine, and has spent much of her career supporting students and families.
Since 2009, she has worked as a school counselor at Mattanawcook Academy, helping students navigate academic challenges, personal growth, and everyday school life.
While Jessy does not handle classes or the day-to-day operation of the driving school, her student-focused perspective and commitment to the community are an important part of the values behind Grumpas Driving School.
