Owners Adam and Jessy Alexander started Grumpas Driving School because there was a need in Lincoln, Maine, as well as the surrounding communities for a driver education program that can provide local access to students without the need to travel very far.
Although, Jessy says that Adam can be "Grumpy" at times the school was not named after him - so no worries about being taught by a grumpy old man! The driving school was named in memory of Adam's dad, Allan Alexander and Jessy’s Grandfather, Robert "Bob" Butler Sr.. Both have had a huge impact on their lives and they could not think of a better way to honor them.

Adam Alexander Owner/Instructor Adam grew up in the Lincoln area, where his passion for safety and responsibility started to take root. Over the years, he’s developed a strong dedication to helping people reduce risks while driving. As both a truck driver traveling across the country and an EMT, Adam has seen firsthand the tragic outcomes of distracted driving. These moments have inspired him to share what he’s learned about safe driving habits. For Adam, driving isn’t just about getting from one place to another; it’s about understanding how serious it is to stay focused and make good choices behind the wheel. He’s seen how just one moment of distraction can impact so many lives. Adam truly believes that anyone can learn to be a safe driver if they start with a solid foundation of good habits. He’s passionate about teaching students how to build these habits and helping them grow into confident, responsible drivers. What he shares is practical and heartfelt, driven by his genuine desire to protect others and create a positive driving culture in his community and beyond. |
